We have just one life – let’s make every moment count

In the lush, tranquil setting of the Isha Yoga Center, from July to December 2018, I embarked on a transformative journey that spanned 21 weeks (150 days) and over 1700 hours of intensive program. The Isha Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Program wasn’t just an education in yoga; it was a profound immersion into the ancient science of Classical Hatha Yoga, as envisioned by Sadhguru.

My journey with Isha started in 2011 with Isha’s flagship program, Inner Engineering, which initiated my quest for spirituality. I was blessed to be part of many advanced spiritual programs between 2011 and 2017 at Isha. I’ve always had a deep-seated desire to push my boundaries and explore my full capabilities, but the right moment to truly test my limits had seemed elusive. Finally, the time has come and I was accepted into the most intense program that I have ever experienced in my life.

This intensive yoga program was far more than physical postures. It was an exploration into the depths of classical Hatha Yoga, encompassing a variety of practices such as Upa Yoga, Angamardana, Surya Kriya, Surya Shakti, and Yogasanas. Each practice was not just a method for physical fitness; it was a tool for achieving mental clarity, boosting vitality, balancing hormonal levels, and bringing a sense of lightness and freedom to the body and mind.

Beyond the asanas, the program included an introduction to vital aspects of wellness and understanding, like Human Anatomy and Physiology, Ayurveda, Siddha Medicine, and an insight into the physical and non-physical dimensions of the human system. This comprehensive approach ensured that I didn’t just learn the techniques, but I also absorbed the very essence of Hatha Yoga’s way of life.

Living and practicing in the consecrated space of Adiyogi Alayam, under the guidance of highly qualified teachers, the experience was more than just learning; it was about transforming ourselves to our ultimate potential. The program was not confined to teaching yoga as a physical exercise but in its full depth and dimension, preparing us to not only improve our wellbeing but to also guide others on their path to wellness. The program focused on 360-degree transformation that included physical, mental, emotional, psychological, and spiritual level practices.

This journey was a leap into the unknown, a challenge to my limits, and a discovery of my inner strength and potential. It was a reminder that the discipline and dedication to Hatha Yoga is not just about physical agility or mastery but about a deeper, more meaningful connection with ourselves and the world around us.

Through this journey, I learned that yoga is more than a practice; it’s a pathway to understanding life in its fullest expression. This program has instilled in me the importance of discipline, a sense of commitment, resilience, endurance, and a deep-rooted desire to make a difference in others’ lives in this lifetime. As I continue to share this knowledge and experience with others, I carry with me the profound lessons of resilience, balance, and inner peace that this journey has instilled in me.
